MailChimp

What is MailChimp?

On its own website, MailChimp advertises itself as:

MailChimp is the world’s largest marketing automation platform. It’s like a second brain that helps millions of customers—from small e-commerce shops to big online retailers—find their audience, engage their customers, and build their brand.

Put simply, MailChimp is a service that allows you to send email campaigns to lists of your customers. Some people call these email newsletters.

Why should I use something like MailChimp?

For one simple reason: you should never send out a newsletter or a email campaign from your own email address. If your email address starts getting marked as spam by the people you’ve sent it to, you could find that your emails that you send in future are no longer getting sent out to your recipients.

Whenever you’re wanting to send out email newsletters, use something like MailChimp to avoid this kind of problem.

And yes, you should have an email marketing list

Don’t let GDPR dissuade you from considering starting an email marketing list. An email marketing list is a powerful tool because you can push marketing messages to your audience whenever you need to.

You can use it to advertise new services, sell new products and inform your clients of important information.
